Hurrricane Season

  • Mood: Fixing my Ipod
  • Music: Tu Mirada-Maria Bestar
  • Weather: Hoooot!
  • Movie: Watching TV
Hurricane Season is very close, at least where we are. There is already a list of names for the new hurricanes year 2006: Alberto, Beryl, Chris, Debby, Ernesto, Florence, Gordon, Helene, Isaac, Joyce, Kirk, Leslie, Michael, Nadine, Oscar, Patty, Rafael, Sandy, Tony, Valerie, William

Get prepared, we are last year all those hurricanes filled out the house with lots of hurricane survival stuff. We need to buy some caned food and water and we are ready. Last year Hurricane Rita broke a window of our house and the house got fluded. Hurricane Wilma was very bad, but our property was safe. I hope this year won't be as bad and we will just sit and wait to see what is coming. But my suggestion is to get ready from now, today I was a the store and I saw lots fo poeple buying stuff for hurricane so maybe if you are in the zone you need to go out there and have everything ready, besides all the stuff that you buy for hurricane is tax free until june 1st. Good Luck!

The Meatrix

  • Mood: Kind of bored
  • Music: La Razon Eres Tu-Sin Bandera
  • Weather: Nice
  • Movie: Watching TV

This is a very funny site, found it on a blog The Meatrix check it out if you are a The Matrix fan. Some times I'm just blogging around looks like I have nothing better to do but I like reading on some other peoples stories. Oh! By the way, Jennifer Lopez is rumoured to be three months pregnant with her first baby. The Latin beauty - who has made no secret of her desire to have children with husband Marc Anthony - is due to give birth around Christmas, a source told America's In Touch magazine. The 'Monster-In-Law' actress sparked pregnancy rumours when she was spotted sporting an apparent baby bump and grey roots at the ALMA awards in Los Angeles earlier this month. During the event Anthony spoke publicly of having a baby, saying: "I'm looking forward to starting a family." The following day, the beautiful singer fuelled speculation by cancelling her upcoming tour. It's been reported Jennifer, who is due to turn 37 in June, could face legal action after pulling out of her scheduled gigs in several countries. Bulgarian promoter Nina Girginova has said: "Whatever the reason is, she should have explained it, and even if she had lied it would have been better than not giving the fans any reason at all." See ya!

All these questions and more will be answered as this groundbreaking series concludes eight amazing seasons. This show was one of my favorites shows ever, I am going to missed them very much. • Movie: Watching the News

Sometimes I am away from reality, I don’t see much TV lately just in my world doing different things. But the other day a friend chat with me about Rocio Durcal, that she died and I didn’t know so I went to the internet and found this: “In 2001, Rocío Dúrcal was diagnosed with cancer of the uterus. In 2004 the doctors found spots in the lung for which she had to be submitted to chemotherapy. Later on, the cancer itself progressed up to her brain. After a lengthy battle with cancer, Rocío died in her home in Madrid on March 25, 2006.” This spanish artist was an icon for years in my life my deeply respects and I am very honored to be in this world and this era to hear her voice and music.

Soraya

  • Mood: Sad
  • Music: Suelta Mi Mano-Sin Bandera
  • Weather: Rainy
  • Movie: Watching TV

Singer and songwriter Soraya, one of the first artists to write and record in both English and Spanish, past away at 37. Although details were not clear at deadline, published reports and sources say the Latin Grammy winner died (May 10) in Florida. The singer had been battling breast cancer for several years and was a spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Sources say she relapsed at the beginning of the year. Soraya, whose mother, aunt and grandmother died of breast cancer, was diagnosed with stage three of the disease in June 2000, just as she was finalizing a new album with Universal Music Latino. She successfully underwent treatment and returned to a new record deal with EMI. Her 2003 album, the self-produced "Soraya," won her the first ever Latin Grammy for best singer/songwriter album.

Surge Protector

  • Mood: Sleepy
  • Music: A donde fue tu amor-Hector Montaner
  • Weather: Nice
  • Movie: Jersey Girl

I need a surge protector before hurricane season comes in, if not I will have the same problem than last year. We didn’t have power for 2 weeks and the power was crazy coming and going. Our equipment need protection TODAY!!!! So this is what I read about Surge Protectors: A device that shields computer and other electronic devices from surges in electrical power or transient voltage, that flow from the power supply. Standard American voltage for home and office buildings is 120 volts. Anything over this amount is considered transient and can damage electronic devices that are plugged into an outlet. Even though power surges are so brief that they are measured in nanoseconds, they can cause considerable damage to electronic equipment. A surge protector works by channeling the extra voltage into the outlet's grounding wire, preventing it from flowing through the electronic devices while at the same time allowing the normal voltage to continue along its path. Electrical surges can damage computer equipment by burning its wires or gradually over time wearing down the device’s internal components and even wipe out any saved data. Surge protectorscan also protect telephone and cable lines as these also carry electric current. It is a common misunderstanding that surge protectors will protect systems from lightning, the most familiar source of power surges. Even the most effective surge protectors can not protect equipment from the sudden increase in electrical pressure of millions of volts that lightning can supply. The best way to prevent damage during from lightning storm is to unplug devices that could be irreparably damaged. Surge protectors more commonly protect equipment from lower-voltage surges that occur frequently in modern electrical wiring. For example, devices such as refrigerators and air conditioners require large amounts of energy to switch motors and compressors on and off, creating surges in power that disrupt the steady flow of voltage. Faulty wiring, downed power lines and faulty equipment at the power source (utility company) can all cause power surges as well. Surge protectors are also commonly called power strips, surge suppressors and transient suppressors.

Sterling

  • Mood: Headache
  • Music: De Viaje-Sin Banderas
  • Weather: Very Hot
  • Movie: No movies today

This is the second time I feel proud of what I do professionally the organization that I work for has just won a very prestigious award called the Sterling since 1992, 42 organizations have received the Governor’s Sterling Award (GSA) for significant improvement and achievement of performance excellence. The GSA is based on the application of the Sterling Criteria for Organizational Performance Excellence, which is in turn based on the internationally acclaimed Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. The Governor’s Sterling Award is recognized as the preeminent state award process in the nation. So this time finally my job have been very involved in winning such award. I’m really overwhelmed not only for what I do but for all that people that work in this great organization it is amazing all they do and I take out my hat to them and applaud them. The best part is that this organization is a second time winner; last time they won this award for 2002 so that means we are good on what we do. I’ll be at the ceremony and it would be a great experience for me, I can’t wait. Ok I'll come back tomorrow with more stoires...
